Reception
Since 1973, Chicago radio station WXRT has prided itself on living on the cutting edge of music; musically, the station collects all sorts of acclaimed mellow rock, presenting both long-standing critical faves, like Elvis Costello and John Mellencamp, and up and comers like Jack Johnson. This eleventh volume of live tracks captured by the station’s mics includes dignified yet rousing performances by all the abovementioned artists. The sure-to-be collector’s item was initially exclusively available at “Chicagoland” Starbucks locations and on the coffeeshop’s Hear Music website.
