Yesterday, Phair tweeted about Albumism’s new readers’ poll, which asks fans to weigh in on their top three albums by her. The list includes all seven of Phair’s official albums, plus an entry for The Girly-Sound Tapes. The poll ends on March 11 at 10pm ET for those who want to make sure they’r able to cast their selections.
What was perhaps more interesting to fans, however, was Phair’s reference to “lucky #9,” which is the first mention of a follow-up to last year’s Soberish. Phair has been quoted during press for Soberish that she has one more album in her, so this mystery follow-up could be her last.
In addition to new music, she’s also announced that Fairy Tales, the follow up to her 2019 memoir, Horror Stories, will be coming soon as well.
Other than the year, no other information about the next album has been officially announced, including whether Brad Wood will stay on as producer. While new music is something to certainly look forward to, fans are also keen on how dates and plans can shift. So until more more information is available, don’t get too excited just yet.
