The comeandgetit EP was released simultaneously along with Liz’s eponymous album in 2003. Originally, it was available through a special link via the CD-ROM of the album where listeners could download the individual tracks and the cover art.
Early in 2004, a CD-R with plain art was submitted by Sony / ATV Music Publishing to solicit the songs for possible inclusion for film and television.
Also that year, a physical version of the EP was available at select shows. And later, Capitol released another version of the EP with new cover artwork from the Liz Phair photo sessions (the same image of Liz from the edited version of the self-titled album).
Considered a must-have for fans, the comeandgetit EP contains five previously unreleased songs (although “Hurricane Cindy” had been recorded before with slightly different lyrics). “Jeremy Engle,” “Fine Again,” and “Shallow Opportunities” were all previously unheard tracks, and “Bouncer’s Conversation” was a song only previously heard live during select shows in the late 90s.
The comeandgetit EP has become a rare find for fans, but copies can occasionally be found through services like Discogs.com and eBay.

“That’s my most favorite well-written song. That’s a song that friends of mine have adored and been really annoyed that they just can’t get it somewhere.“
Liz Phair on “Jeremy Engle”

Additional Notes
- The version of “Hurricane Cindy” featured on this EP is actually the second studio version of the song to be recorded. The first was on the Japanese release for whitechocolatespaceegg and contained slightly different lyrics.
- The first three tracks on this EP are credited as being produced by Michael Penn, however in an article by Vulture , Liz mentions Walt Vincent as the producer for “Jeremy Engle.” Penn was originally due to record an entire album with Liz that ended up being shelved. These tracks were originally to be included on that unreleased album.
- Liz has remarked that she finds “Jeremy Engle” to be her best-written song in her entire catalog.
- “Jeremy Engle” and “Fine Again” would eventually be commercially available on the single release for Why Can’t I?
